Scope of work
- Structural Modeling: Develop and maintain Revit models for foundations, framing systems, walls, columns, and other structural components at Levels of Development (LOD) ranging from 100 through 400.
- Construction Documents: Prepare structural plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and details by incorporating engineering sketches, calculations, markups, design revisions, and review comments.
- Design Visualization: Develop presentation graphics and renderings, including enhanced Revit axonometric and elevation views, to communicate design intent, materials, finishes, colors, and anticipated finished appearances.
- Coordination and Quality Control: Coordinate structural models and drawings with engineers, architects, and other design disciplines, and check project documents for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Revit Standards and Tools: Depending on experience, contribute to the development and improvement of RPA’s Revit standards, templates, families, drafting tools, and production workflows. Experienced candidates may also support staff training and knowledge sharing.
- Project Support: Communicate with engineers and project managers regarding assignments, schedules, and technical questions, and provide CADD assistance to other RPA engineering groups as project needs require.
Requirements
- Education: Associate degree in drafting or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience: Entry-level through senior-level candidates are encouraged to apply. Position level will be based on directly relevant qualifications and experience.
- Revit Proficiency: Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit is required. Relevant Revit coursework or training will be considered for entry-level candidates.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret construction documents, engineering sketches, and markups. Familiarity with structural drawings, construction practices, and common building systems and materials, or a strong interest in learning, is preferred.
- Additional Software: Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or other engineering design applications is beneficial.
