Scope of work


  • Perform detailed and routine engineering assignments, including calculations, technical analyses, and design tasks for highway and roadway projects.
  • Gather and correlate engineering data using established procedures; identify discrepancies and propose solutions using modifications of standard methods.
  • Develop design criteria, horizontal/vertical alignments, superelevation, barrier/guiderail design, spot elevation details, and pavement designs.
  • Oversee the development of signing, pavement marking plans, construction phasing, and maintenance of traffic plans.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines, identify utility conflicts, and resolve issues through interdisciplinary reviews and client feedback.
  • Prepare construction specifications, quantities, cost estimates, technical reports, and 3D models using Bentley OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Adhere to and promote AECOM quality procedures; complete technical reviews and contribute to project staffing decisions.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to entry-level engineers; contribute to proposals and presentations for new work.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising judgment and proactively seeking process improvements.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 4 years of related experience in highway/transportation design or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Valid US driver’s license (for site visits and client meetings)
  • Demonstrated experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar design applications
