Transportation Designer

Scope of work

Draws design details and coordinates drafting of roadway and transportation project elements under direction, performing supporting calculations and quantity computations for state and local transportation agencies.

Requirements

• Collect and assimilate data and perform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.
• Draw design details under direction of others.
• Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
• Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.
• Coordinate drafting of design elements and construction plans.
• Perform field or site visits as needed.
• Develop cursory knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.
