Scope of work


  • Develop mechanical designs for process equipment, piping systems, utility systems, and supporting structural elements.
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD, including general arrangements, equipment layouts, piping plans, and isometric drawings.
  • Develop and revise Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), utility drawings, and other engineering documentation.
  • Utilize 3D modeling and point-cloud scan data to support facility design, field verification, and project planning.
  • Assist in the selection and specification of piping components, equipment, supports, and structural elements.
  • Conduct field walkdowns, take measurements, and verify existing site conditions to ensure design accuracy.
  • Maintain engineering records and support document control activities, including updating drawings and managing revisions.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, operations, maintenance personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout project development and execution.
  • Support Requests for Information (RFIs), installation activities, commissioning efforts, and troubleshooting of newly installed equipment and systems.
  • Assist with the development of as-built drawings to accurately reflect completed installations and facility modifications.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable internal standards and industry codes related to safety, equipment layout, and engineering practices.
  • Identify potential safety hazards, design conflicts, and constructability issues and recommend practical solutions.

Requirements


  • Experience working in chemical, manufacturing, industrial processing, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD Vault or similar document management systems.
  • Familiarity with point-cloud scanning technology and 3D facility design.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes, including ASME, API, OSHA, and NFPA.
  • Experience supporting capital projects from design through installation and startup.
  • Knowledge of process equipment, rotating equipment, utility systems, and industrial piping systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
