Civil Roadway/Highway Design Engineer

Scope of work

• Prepare roadway design plans, profiles, typical sections, and cross sections using OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation.
• Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses for transportation projects.
• Develop pavement evaluation reports and rehabilitation recommendations.
• Assist in the preparation of roadway design reports, engineering studies, and technical documentation.
• Design signing and pavement marking plans in accordance with MUTCD and agency standards.
• Prepare ADA compliant pedestrian facility improvements, including curb ramps, sidewalks, and crosswalks.
• Support maintenance of traffic (MOT) and traffic control plan development.
• Perform quantity calculations and assist with cost estimating.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including drainage, structures, traffic engineering, survey, environmental, and utility disciplines.
• Participate in field reviews, site visits, and construction support activities.
• Support quality control reviews and implementation of company design standards.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and project stakeholders.
